Paul has over 25 years of experience in the design of products and systems in diverse fields including automotive, defence, medical, healthcare and consumer goods. At Applidyne he heads a team of engineers and technicians with skills and qualifications in industrial design and mechanical, mechatronic and electronic engineering.
Prior to joining Applidyne Paul worked for Vision Abell (now part of BAE) and the Defence Science Technology Organisation. Paul has Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelors Degree (with first class Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide. He has been instrumental in the quest for innovative solutions for our clients and is the inventor of many of these, with numerous patents to his name. He cites thermodynamics, mechanism design and control systems as some of his favourite areas of endeavour. Paul serves on the Engineers Australia National Committee for Engineering Design (NCED), and has served on the judging panel for the Australian International Design Awards on several occasions. Paul also serves as an expert witness and has handled many fascinating cases of mechanical failures and accidents involving mechanical systems.
