Dump Truck Active Suspension
In an effort to improve the ride comfort and tyre and chassis life on large dump trucks a computer model of the vehicle was developed. This indicated that substantial improvements could be achieved by actively controlling suspension forces. In conjunction with our client, Birrana Engineering, the design has now been progressed to production representative stage and extensive field testing has confirmed the benefits of the system. This project was a great example of how expertise in control systems, electronics, software, hydraulics and mechanical design in one dedicated project team can deliver great results.
