Transporting up to 410 tons of excavator around a mine site poses some challenges. Our client MineRanger developed this trailer to do the job. It comes complete with a 40 kW diesel engine providing a braking cooling system to dissipate up to 1MW when the trailer is descending into a pit. Our control system monitors braking performance, controls the engine and via a wireless link provides a user interface for the driver. Utilising fail-safe principles and designed for the challenging mine environment this system maximises mine equipment productivity. The system also controls ancillary functions such as ramp raising and lowering.
