We have a proven track record in innovative mechanical and electronic engineering design as our wins in the Australian Design Awards attest. We have assisted a wide range of clients from fields as diverse as medical, automotive, mining, agricultural, defence and consumer goods sectors to develop successful new products or solve difficult problems.

Mechanical Design

Mechanical engineering and product design has long been our core activity. We have developed many innovative products over the years from power fold mechanisms for automotive rear vision mirrors to active suspension systems for mining dump trucks. Our core skills are:

From concept through to production our engineers strive for innovation. Our designers utilise Creo, Inventor and Solidworks to rapidly convert their ideas to reality. Then often use Ansys to validate and verify their designs. We have an in-house measuring lab for tolerance checking and a workshop and test facility to assemble and set to work new systems and conduct testing.

Electronic Design

Our electrical and electronic design experience spans from embedded micro-controllers to the design of electro-magnetic actuators. We have developed highly reliable electronics for mining and aircrafts and have experience ranging from one-off designs such as production line testers, to high volume price sensitive consumer electronics.

Key services that we can offer are:

  • Digital and analogue circuit design simulation and analysis
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Testing and troubleshooting
  • Embedded software development in C, C++ and assembler
  • Research and development (R&D) of new ideas, systems and technologies

Our designers use Altium and KiCAD to convert their ideas to reality. We have an in-house measuring and electronics workshop to assemble and set to work new systems and conduct testing.

Engineering Analysis

Our engineers analyse both complex dynamic and static systems using various techniques ranging from first principles mathematical modeling through to Ansys FEA.

We can assist with the following types of analysis:

  • Structural and stress analysis, including FEA using Ansys software with full non-linear capability
  • Thermal analysis, such as heat exchangers and cooling systems
  • Dynamic systems, including non-linear systems mathematical and computer modeling

Technical Investigation

Our senior consulting engineers conduct technical investigations and analyses of accidents and failures for legal cases, insurance claims, inquests and internal corporate investigations. We also conduct feasibility studies and technology assessments for a diverse range of clients from government departments through to venture capitalists. Drawing on our extensive engineering design experience we bring real world experience to challenging cases.

Our Technical Director regularly serves as an expert witness in accident and failure investigations in areas including:

  • Automotive
  • Industrial and process
  • Machinery and equipment
  • Mechanical
  • Product

We conduct technology assessments, studies and design reviews in most aspects of product, machinery and equipment design. Key areas include

  • Energy efficiency
  • Renewable energy projects
  • Volume manufacture product design.
