Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Applidyne is well established and very successful in the research, design and development of innovative, market driven products with an electromechanical design focus. Design projects have involved automotive mechanisms, industrial machines and equipment, consumer goods and medical and healthcare equipment.

Due to growth of the company the need for an additional Electronics Design Engineer having the ability to handle sophisticated engineering design and analysis work in a competitive commercial environment has arisen. Applidyne has a highly skilled team based approach and you will be supported in this role by experienced design engineers.

Reporting to the Technical Manager and supervised by a Senior Electronics Design Engineer your role will involve:

  • Performing engineering analysis and design activities in a diverse range of electronic, both analogue and digital, and electromechanical design projects;
  • Performing analysis and design optimisation from first principles, including circuit analysis, electromagnetic systems, control systems, electro-optics, and energy conversion systems;
  • Systems design of complex electronics,  and electromechanical systems;
  • Embedded micro controller design and software development;
  • PCB design;
  • Hands-on work including prototype assembly and testing;
  • Generating design concepts and capturing intellectual property;
  • Preparing technical reports, specifically for consulting projects such as design reviews, investigations of failures, concept design, feasibility studies and systems analysis;

It is anticipated that applicants will have higher level tertiary qualifications in Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline, along with at least 2 years technical design experience in a commercial R&D environment, however exceptional recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.  The ideal applicant will also have good mechanical aptitude and strong IT skills. You must be a strong team player and will be comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

To be eligible for this position you will have higher level tertiary qualifications in Electronics Engineering or a similar discipline, along with design experience in a commercial R&D environment.  You will also have a valid visa for work in Australia or be an Australian citizen.
