“Inventions have long since reached their limit, and I see no hope for further developments.”
Roman Engineer, Julius Sextus Frontinus, 10AD
“Everything that can be invented – has already been invented.”
Mr Charles Duell, Commissioner of the US Patent Office, 1899
New ideas are usually generated when someone has a problem to solve – Necessity is the Mother of Invention. Solutions to problems don’t always come easily, especially when it’s an old problem and a better solution is required. And often we are put on the spot by clients who need a solution “right now”. Invariably a form of “writers block” sets in – it is very hard to have a good idea in a hurry. So we use a brainstorming process to get the ideas happening.
